What can I do with all my baby blankets?
I am cleaning out my closets for the winter, and I realized that I have about 15 baby blankets for my daughter. They are not receiving blankets, they are like crib blankets. We will not even use half that many. But, I am loathe to part with any of them because they were given to us by members of our church. Should I quit being so sentimental and donate them, or is there a better way to keep the keepsake?

- I would donate them to families that need them! Pick your favorite one to keep though :-)
- i would pick a few and donate the rest, they were given to you because they thought they were needed so you should give them to families that do need them :) no need in them taking up room and collecting dust.
- I think you should donate them....maybe even start a fund raiser at your church to donate any type of blanket and then send them to a tribe or a womans shelter
- I would save some for you daughter who will eventually enjoy playing with dolls and need blankets for those dolls! Another reason to keep them- give them away at baby showers if they are brand new or look new, put them in a basket as a decoration and throw some gifts in there. Perhaps find someone in need through your church that could use a blanket or two. If your good at sewing (i'm not one of those people) you could make her doll outfits with it or perhaps her own clothes depending on what the fabric looks like. Make cloth necklaces- using marbles, wrap cloth around marbles and tie. Sew pillows! Dont know how old your daugther is but if she's old enough allow her to choose what she wants to do w/ them
- If you want her to grow with them, perhaps you can sew your favorites together to make a makeshift quilt that she can use well into her childhood (and then you can hang it on the wall) and then donate the rest to a member of your church who may need them.
- Donate them to other members of the church or to your churches nursery.
- If you truly want to save them get some of the thick frames especially for keepsakes and hang them in your daughter's room. But there are a lot of children out there that are also in need of crib blankets for the winter so I would weed out the ones you truly want to save and at least donate a few to help other babies keep warm.
- I would give them to people who really need them or have one large blanket made out of all the blankets. You could alson buy a hope chest and store them in those plastic bags inside to keep for your grandchildren.
- i would just save them because winter is coming and you never know! like for example you have extra sleepers one day you can throw some of those blankets on the floor and there goes there bed! or what if your daughter wets the bed or dirty's her blanket you would have extra to back you up!!
- you could pick a few to keep and sew them together to make a big blanket out of and donate the rest; you dont realise till you have bubs how many you actually need lol
- I would make a quilt. When we stop using our Daughters blankets we are going to make a large quilt! Actually, we are going to have a quilter make it. Everything my Daughter has is so sentimental to me. I want to keep everything so when one day, if she has a daughter, she can pass it down to them. Hope this helps!
