Do cradles effect a baby's sleep once they are moved to their cots?

I am having my third child and I wanted to put the baby in my room for the first few months, but I can't decide if I want to buy a bassinet or cradle. I have never used either as I have always put my babys in their cots straight away. I like the idea of cradles as they can be rocked to settle them to sleep however I am worried that they will get use to the rocking motion and have problems sleeping once they are moved to their cots.

1. I preferred the bassinet for my girls. My youngest one had a swing and she would fall asleep in that all the time. But as soon as it stopped, she would be away right away. So, if YOU want sleep, best to use a bassinet.
