What to do when you find drugs in your kids room ?

I've had my suspicions that there was something going on & have found pot in my kids room before & flushed it. I let them know that I would not have any tolerance for this stuff. I've found it AGAIN. What can I do to stop this ? I am so upset right now.

1. You can't..The more you punish them, the more they will do it. Ban them from leaving the house and not let them be alone in their rooms if it's reached that desperation or you could always just get them a probation officer :)
2. Go to your local drug store walgreens or cvs will work buy a home drug screening kit its about 15 dollars and tell you children from this point further they will be drug tested once a month and if you find anything in there system I dont know your the mom you pick the punishment
3. I'm not a parent but I do understand the attachment you would have. No matter how much I loved the child, I would take them to a "steer- straight" program through the local police. Threaten reform school with real criminal kids and teens that have killed people before. If you have to, do it! I know that you're thinking of emotional ways to get out of it, but a stern "sit-down" is obviously not enough.

5. you cant just get rid of it and expect it to be okay by telling them your not gonna tolerate it obviously if they are doing this then there is something in there life that is going on you need to have a serious talk with them take more time and be more involved with there life they need attention. They may pull away alot at first but once you show that you are there and you want to help it'll be okay
6. First of all, I can only imagine how frustrating and scary that seems to you. Do you know anything else about this? Are they consistently high, or is it an experimental thing? I think the answers to these questions will be the basis of any punishment. Although, I would be more concerned with getting him/her on the right path. Try your hardest to find out WHY your child feels this is something worthwhile, and make sure they know you are trying to do what's best for them. There is usually a reason, whether it be boredom, experimenting, an escape from stress, or friends. Whatever it is, if you can get an honest answer out of your child, you will be more equipped to handle this situation. The best way to do this is to be calm and loving when you talk to them. A few tears also go a long way. Best of luck to you and yours....
7. better call the kids and talk to them about the dangers of drugs. How they can destroy their future. tell them how important their future is.
8. talking to them wont do any good you have a big task and i really feel for you i had an uncle who is addict and it all started bit by bit. i would like to give you two advise: take the kids to rehab and let them see who in the end they would look like after seeing the addicts. second - check the neighbourhood and their friends and if you think there is much influence then go find a better place. this is serious and you have nothing to blame make sure you dont loose the fight.
